Day Care Service At Dhaka Eye Care Hospital many of the surgeries are being done as day care procedure. This is due to that patient undergoing any eye procedure donot require a long stay admission. Patients who require surgery the surgical coordinator confirms the date of surgery according to the patient's convenience. Patient is counselled in the Patient Counselling department and pre-operative instructions for surgery are given. On the day of surgery the patient arrive hospital 1 hour before the surgery. The patient is then sent to the Day Care Room (Lounge) where they sign the consent forms and they are prepared for surgery. The Day Care Lounges are specially designed for postoperative recovery phase of patients. To create a comfortable and peaceful environment during this process, the Lounges have bed, chairs etc. for patients to rest. Dedicated supportive staff and doctors ensure that the best of quality care is given, to the patient during this time. After surgery, the patient counsellor visits every postoperative patient in Day Care Lounges and gives them essential post-operative medicines, instructions and counselling. The patient is discharged as per the instructions given by the doctor. Discharge summary is given to the patient and review appointment is assigned for follow up.
