Outpatient Service
Dhaka Eye Care Hospital Outpatient and Emergency Service provide a comprehensive Ophthalmology service incorporating consultation, diagnostic and treatment services together with facilities for adults and children of all ages. All patients are seen by appointment only. Patient who has taken an appointment should report to our Front Desk Executives where the patient has to fill in a registration card with the necessary details and return it to the Executives for registration in the hospital information database. The patient will be asked to take a seat until our patient coordinators will guide them to the Optometrist for the routine eye examinations. All the patients visiting Dhaka Eye Care Hospital goes through a comprehensive eye examination rather than just addressing the presenting symptom. The basic tests that the patients are likely to encounter during comprehensive eye examination includes visual acuity testing, refraction, Slit lamp examination, tonometry, dilated retinal examination and other necessary tests. It may take 1 hour for a complete eye examination. If, after the check up, doctors suggest for additional examination, the process may take more time depending on the complexity of tests required. After all the tests have been carried out the doctor will carry out a final examination and depending on the results patient will be guided to the specialty clinic (retina, glaucoma, cornea, contact lens, refractive services or oculoplasty) depending on the nature of the problem. Finally the patient is provided with prescription and a Medical Record File for future reference and the same is maintained in the Electronic Medical Record of the hospital.

Patient tips when attending Dhaka Eye Care Hospital
- Book an appointment prior visiting hospital
- Patients must report to the Front desk executive about their appointment
- Review patients must bring Medical Record File provided during first visit
- Bring all glasses, readers and distance glasses
- Bring a list of all medications currently being taken

Outpatient opening times are:
- Saturday to Thursday and 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.
- Friday 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.
- Specialty Clinics work from 3 pm to 9 pm on all week days except Friday
- Emergency cases will be seen on all days
