Before Your Surgery

Patient scheduled for eye procedure at Dhaka Eye Care Hospital will receive a telephone call from our nursing staff two days prior operation. This is to confirm the time you should arrive for your surgery and to answer your questions. We encourage patients to ask nursing staff questions about the surgery, the diet prior to surgery, the process of admission to the hospital, type of anesthesia patient may need, patient medication routine, surgery fees etc.

The nurse will advise you of the following:
  • About your arrival time.
  • Your fasting times - food and fluids.
  • The length of time you can expect to be at Dhaka Eye Care Hospital.
  • No makeup especially eye makeup, when you come for your surgery.
  • Your post-operative care.
  • Arrange for a friend or family member to drive you home when you are discharged from the hospital.
The nurse will ask you about:
  • Which medicines you are taking.
  • If you develop a cold or illness prior to surgery.
If you develop a red eye, cough, cold or any other illness please contact us as your surgery may need to be postponed and rebooked for a later date. Our staff will be happy to assist you.
